At Garden State ElderCare we provide home health care assistance and Geriatric Care Management to senior citizens, their family members and adults with disabilities. We are often getting phone calls from relatives in a crisis, “What to do with our older adult when we go on vacation?” We can sit down with the family member and come up with a care plan for the elderly. There are many options to consider. There is home care that we can set in place. There are assisted living respite stays and other plans of care that can be considered. Most families do not know where to turn. Instead they can become stressed out and overwhelmed!
As a Geriatric Care Manager it is our job to meet with the family and discuss the care plans and how to improve your quality of life. Home care can be considered on a full time live in basis, hourly or part time basis depending on your needs. Also, for those family members that plan to be away and cannot take care of their loved ones safely in the home, we can suggest some respite stay residences for a short stay. There are many options for the older adult. These assisted living residences provide the senior citizen or elderly with a stimulating “vacation” in a safe environment. They can provide some nursing and home care assistance to your loved ones, while you relax on your own vacation. They are all private pay facilities. We can also provide a private certified home health aide to watch over your older adult and give them more private attention in the respite setting if you desire.
